Fallschirmjager "Studio" Photos

Here are some "studio" photos of the Fallschirmjager. I'm really happy with how these guys have turned out. A big thank you to Heresy Brush for his Fallschirmjager painting guide.

Fallschirmjager Update

Well, here some photos of my finished Fallschirmjager for Flames of War. I have enjoyed painting theese Forged in Battle minis. The details is crisp and the poses are really nice.

My Games Table WiP

Some photos of the Total Battle Miniatures village on my table. I will add some flock to the edges and some random spots on the village plate just blend it all in.

Total Battle Miniatures

Little update regarding my table fitout.

This arrived today!

I have always struggled with painting buildings, particularly NW Europe. So I took a bit of a punt and ordered these pre-painted Total Battle Miniatures buildings. Absolutely awesome. The colours tones are spot on and they are well painted. I would thoroughly recommend these. There is a tiny catch, they are quite expensive but if you have the cash you will be very happy.

I will post some pics up of them on my table tonight.

Forged in Battle Fallschirmjager

Well, I have alway been very pro-Battlefront but I have just purchased a company's worth of Forged in Battle Fallschirmjager, and I am gobsmacked to say the least. Being a painter first I am always critical of minis but I have always accepted that there is only so much you can do at 15mm scale. Well not anymore. FiB have earn't themselves a new fan. The platoon blisters are reasonably priced and come with enough figures to make a FoW platoon at full strength. There is enough variety in the poses that the platoon will look great. The figures are superbly sculpted with a lot of realism and weight to the stances. Minor criticism is the lack of panzerfaust and panzerschreck but other than that I'm in love!

Here are some shots of the first 4 minis that I have painted. These have been an absolute pleasure to paint.

Yankee Doodle...

Here is my Late War US Army.
Painted in 2011 and sold 2012.
I found Olive Drab one of the trickiest colours I have ever encountered. Again, I learnt a lot here and have made quote a few notes for when I tackle my new US Army later in the year.

A small side project of my Late War German army was a platoon of Fallschirmjager. This was a great learning experience and a nice break from regular Heer infantry.

To give some background I am posting some pics of my previous works. As I am mainly a Flames of War player, the majority of my work will be 15mm WW2.

My Afrika Korps
Painted in 2012 and sold the same year. This was a small side project and my first Early War attempt. i wanted the army to represent the very early months of the conflict in North Afrika.

Welcome to Battle of the Brush!

Well, to coincide with a major change in wargamer projects I have decided to kick off a blog. I have been posting on various forums for a while and though a blog will give a central point to collect all my thoughts an projects and hopefully someone may also find it useful.

Thanks for reading!
